The return from "never never land"

While the search for Peter Pan is an endless one, in my eyes, this adventure was a great mind “broadener” and a step in the right direction. I know the “real world” and all its pressures will do their utmost to change ones outlook and true being, but I hope there is enough understanding and self belief now to remain committed to my own soul’s desires. I will return to “real life” with a smile on my face and happy heart, thankful for the experiences shared with strangers through to good friends. They will never be forgotten. Adios amigos ;-)

Make your moments last...

The remainder of the trip through Argentina and Chile produced some wonderful moments and unforgettable experiences. Sometimes words can’t be used to describe them especially if your names Tommy P. I’ll leave you with the photos.

Make your tale an unforgettable one...

The final stop in Bolivia was in a place called Tupiza. Its where Butch Cassidy and the Sun dance kid robbed heaps of banks and then got shot. Besides this the scenery was awesome and our friend also managed to spend one unforgettable day with some people whom he met the day before. At the end of the day all felt like they had known each other for years and hopefully the friendships formed will last that long. Again the pictures show it all.

Lost somewhere close to the edge...

Le Paz is a strange city one that can prove very daunting at first. I say this because it is one of the only cities in the world that as you come over the rise to enter the city bowl, you get a could understanding of the size and poverty of the city. This is displayed through the view provided. Not being much of a city boy though and looking for the next piece of excitement the “death road” was calling our friend. It is seen as the most dangerous road in the world due to the death rate on it. Evidence of which is left for all to see over the various cliffs along the way. The trick is to do it on a mountain bike as you get a great view and can push the limits as much as you like. While the down hill extremeness was great fun, the scenery was fantastic too.
After numerous beers and a cheeky sleep, the road headed south to a place called Uyuni to see the largest salt flats in the world. On arrival one feels like the bus has gone through a worm hole in space and you’ve arrived on a planet somewhere close to mars. The temperature gets into the negative twenties but lucky we have some lovely red wine blankets to keep us warm. The terrain is made up of red lakes, blue lakes, multicoloured mountains to name a few of the weird bits. I believe the colour of the terrain is due to the various elements found in the ground like copper, sulphur, iron ore etc. I have a good feeling it is where the artist Darley got his inspirations for those very strange environments. The pictures say it all.
